Welcome to the Crazy Quilt Journal Project 2018!Prepare to be inspired by the wonderful work of fellow crazy quilt artists from all over the world.Be sure to welcome a little craziness into your life every day.
My Crazy Quilt Journal Project 2018 block for May is the third and last of the Spring Blocks. This block features several lace motifs, including five rose blossoms, a butterfly and a pair of Blue Birds. I hand dyed the rose blossoms. This block also features a raised applique frog sitting in a pond. He is joined by a few friends; butterflies, a bee, Lady Bugs, a green dragonfly, a snail, and an amber spider sitting in her web. A pair of lace Blue Birds sit in a leafy bush above the pond.
Other embellishments include a button cluster in the lower left-hand corner and a large daisy type flower in the lower right-hand corner. All the buttons used on this block are antique or vintage glass.
Note: The lace motifs: Blue birds, butterfly and the large daisy type flower were purchased from Barbara Nicki Lee Seavey’s Raviolee Dreams at Etsy.com
